The summer transfer window was full of headline-making moves with the likes of PSG and Manchester United completing stellar signings, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, respectively. However, Arsenal were also one of the busiest teams.

The Gunners have gone all in during the transfer market aiming to upgrade a squad that finished 8th in the 2020-21 Premier League and failed to secure European qualification for the first time in more than 20 years.

Mikel Arteta has seen plenty of new arrivals in London with Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Nuno Tavares joining his roster in a transfer window where Arsenal spent more than £150m. However, we might see more new faces at the Emirates by winter.

Arsenal reportedly considering to insist for Real Madrid forward

It would be normal to think their strong summer transfer activity should be more than enough for Arsenal. However, that doesn't really seem to be the case. Apparently, Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower in January.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal would remain interested in signing Marco Asensio from Real Madrid after having a significant offer rejected this summer. Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reported that the Gunners made a £34m bid to land the right winger but Los Blancos turned it down.

The British outlet, however, claims that Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Asensio and he is keen on making another push to land the 25-year-old when the next transfer window opens. Not long ago, Arsenal acquired Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid for £30 million.

Additionally, Dani Ceballos was also sent to the London side on loan twice. But Madrid were unwilling to reach an agreement for Asensio as Carlo Ancelotti promised he would be considered for the first team.

The Italian manager hasn't completely kept his promise so far but the player began to see the field lately and a lot can change in the next few months. However, Arsenal may have a shot if the forward is unsatisfied with his playing minutes by the end of the year.
