Barcelona are ready to leave behind the last disappointing years to get back to their glory days. The Cules have been through sort of a transitional season as their financial issues disallowed them to make big signings, but they want to return to the top soon. Landing a goalscorer seems to be the priority and Sergio Aguero could be arriving at the Camp Nou this summer. Meanwhile, the Blaugranas are understood to have reached an agreement with another forward

In Ronald Koeman's first season, the squad lacked a proven striker with Luis Suárez's departure and the Dutchman had to handle that situation improvising with Ousmane Dembélé as the No. 9, who usually played as a winger instead.

For the next term, despite Barca's economy is far from being better and Joan Laporta's administration is making audits to know what the club is really facing, the free agency seems to be opening the doors for the long-awaited arrival of world-class goalscorers. Aguero is getting closer to the Cules, but another striker has reportedly agreed to terms already.

Barca still in talks with Aguero while Koeman's old wish might be granted

It is no secret that Kun Aguero could be joining Barcelona once his contract with Manchester City runs out in June. The Argentine has been heavily linked with the Catalans ever since he was set to become a free agent and with Lionel Messi's future uncertain. With Aguero on board, the club feels that the captain could be convinced to signing a new deal.

However, according to Marca, while they are negotiating with the Premier League star, Barcelona have agreed to terms with Memphis Depay. The Olympique Lyon's forward has been on Koeman's radar ever since he was appointed last year, and with him entering free agency this summer, it seems like the right timing for the move.

His arrival, though, would depend on the coach's future at the club. Depay has been an exclusive desire of the Wembley Hero, who met the forward during his spell at the Netherlands national team. The former Manchester United player has 21 goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances this season.

The 27-year-old's addition would be a great boost for Barca's squad, which has been too reliant on Lionel Messi's form this term. The Blaugranas are a bit short of options in attack, with only the No. 10 providing good performances regularly. Antoine Griezmann had a certain improvement in the second half of the season, but he is far from his best form, and Ansu Fati is still struggling with his knee injury.

Barcelona need forwards, and while Sergio Aguero may arrive regardless of who's in charge next season, as his signing has more to do with convincing Messi to stay, they reached an agreement with Memphis Depay. If Koeman stays, the Dutch player would land to the Spanish giants.
