This season seemed to be the one for Ansu Fati's rise to stardom. The young winger has already earned recognition in the soccer world and even became an important player in Barcelona's starting eleven with only 17 years of age. His appearances had a great impact both in La Liga and UEFA Champions League games.

Ronald Koeman had high aspirations for Fati this campaign and he was expected to be a key piece in the Dutch's plans. The teenage sensation has been frequently selected for the first-team lineup, but a terrible injury in Barca's 5-2 win over Betis in November sidelined him indefinitely.

That injury turned out to be worse than expected and the young player had to undergo surgery to repair his meniscus. However, his recovery didn't go as planned and Fati had to make a second visit to the surgeon, which seemed to be only a minor setback. Many months later, the Cules' bright player is still struggling with this episode that became a nightmare.

Fati visits CR7's doctor to put an end to this ordeal

Before being ruled out for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season, Ansu Fati was expected to be proving his talent on the field and to giving hope to Barcelona's fans for the future. Unfortunately, the Spanish international hasn't been able to catch a break since that horrible situation against Betis.

He underwent two surgeries in which his left meniscus was repaired, but neither of them was enough to put the 18-year-old's pain to an end. So far, he tried to avoid facing a third operation which would imply the removal of his meniscus, mainly due to his age.

However, after consulting with specialists, it was decided that despite his concerns it would be the best option. According to Marca, Ansu Fati will be treated by Portugal National Team and Cristiano Ronaldo's doctor, José Carlos Noronha.

When would Ansu return to action?

As we've seen this season, stating a timetable for the young star's return could be difficult. Still, Mundo Deportivo reported that after this operation Ansu Fati could be sidelined for only two months if things don't take an unexpected course

Barcelona's promising talent has been dealing with terrible months of continuous setbacks in his recovery and will have to make another visit to the doctor aiming to finally end this nightmare. Hopefully, his problem will be fixed and the Cules will get to see one of their own rising to soccer stardom.
