The 2021-2022 season has begun and that’s the only thingfans seem to care about right now. The UEFA Champions League and the major European leagues are underway and there won’t beroom for transfer moves until January.

However, scouts and clubhierarchies may not only focuson the current season but they mightthinkabout the long term as well. PSG , Real Madrid , and Juventus are reportedly keeping an eye on a Chelsea star’s situation.

The Blues were crowned continental champions a few months ago and their players’ stocks havesignificantly risen since then. One of their key players has entered the final year of his contract but his renewal doesn’t look easy , as he asks for a £200,000-a-week salary ($275,900).

However, Chelsea are also preparing for the future and that includes Antonio Rudiger‘s renewal. The center-back, who thrived under Thomas Tuchel, runs out of contract next summer and his potential free agency status has attracted interest on the continent.

Rudiger, 28, believes this could be his last opportunity to sign a lucrative deal. According to ESPN , he demandsdouble his current wage to extend his contract, but Chelsea wouldn’t go higher than£150,000 ($206,925).

Real Madrid, PSG, and Juventus may have taken note of this situation. Needless to say, landing a top center-back such as Rudiger for free is more than appealing in times whentransfer fees are ridiculously expensive.
