Arch Manning will finally have the chance to showcase his full potential in college football, as his former teammate Quinn Ewers continues his career in the NFL. The Texas Longhorns have enjoyed strong quarterback play for some time now, especially with this duo, who built a strong relationship that goes beyond the field.

During a recent media session, the quarterback — now set to share a roster with Tua Tagovailoa on the Miami Dolphins — expressed his excitement about what Manning can bring to Steve Sarkisian’s team moving forward.

“He’s great. He’s a good kid,” Quinn Ewers told On3 on behalf of Panini America at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles. “He was definitely fun to have in the quarterback room. We’re good buddies.

I’m super excited to see what he does. He’s a hard-working kid, he’s a hard studier. He’s going to set himself up to be as successful as he wants to be, and I think he’s got a chance to go do exactly that and continue on living out what we built at Texas.”

The healthy competition between Ewers and Manning

Although there was plenty of speculation about how the quarterback battle might impact their relationship, all doubts were put to rest when Ewers himself made it clear that he and Manning shared a great bond during their time at Texas.

“We became pretty good buddies,” the Miami Dolphins quarterback said. “We were in the same room for two or so years, so we got to know each other pretty well.

“It’s cool whenever two guys are competing for the same job, obviously, and at the end of the day, we’re just doing whatever we can do to make the team better and also remain competitive at the same time. He’s definitely a friend of mine and will be for a while.”
