It’s pretty clear that Anthony Edwards has a lot of confidence in him and that’s not necessarily a bad team. At the end of the day, you’re only going to make it in the NBA if you are mentally strong enough to work harder than everybody else.

Then again, it seems like that confidence and blatant honesty have already gotten the first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft into trouble, as there have been some questions about his maturity recently.

Edwards claimedthat he was ‘living in a pandemic’ before Covid-19 reached the U.S. Then, he said that he wasn’t really into basketball and that he would quit the NBA to join an NFL team, and later, he even took a shot at a league veteran.

Anthony Edwards Says He Can Rap, Unlike Damian Lillard

The latest addition to theMinnesota Timberwolves‘ rosterconfessed that he was an aspiring rapper like other NBA players and that he would release his tracks pretty soon. Then, he took a shot at Damian Lillard – who goes by the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A -during his interview with ESPN’s Alex Scarborough:

“He goes on to say that he’s an aspiring rapper. He’s already recorded a few tracks with his older brother Bubba. So, like Damian Lillard? “But I really can rap,” he says. “Dame, talking about — I don’t know what he’s talking about. I’m rapping like Lil Baby.” He says he won’t release any songs until he’s established in the NBA,” the report read.

CJ McCollum Fires Back At Anthony Edwards

That’s why Portland Trail Blazers’ star CJ McCollum didn’t hesitate to fire back at the rook and had his teammates’ back, calling him out in an interview with Complex Sports and daring him to work on his skills:

“He better work on that jumper. You can’t run in the West,” McCollum said, and judging by Lillard’s personality, you can be pretty sure that he’s already looking forward to humbling that young man in the court. That’s definitely not the way you want to start your career in the NBA.
