Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs have decided to sign Kareem Hunt, according to a report by Jeremy Fowler. The star running back was a key piece to reach the Super Bowl last season, replacing Isiah Pacheco when he got injured.

“Free-agent running back Kareem Hunt is signing back with the Chiefs per source. Hunt, a former rushing champion, gave Kansas City a lift last season with 728 yards and seven touchdowns.”

The Chiefs have tried to keep their offense intact to help Patrick Mahomes with names like Hunt, Pacheco, Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown. The most significant loss is DeAndre Hopkins, who signed with the Ravens.

Who just signed with the Chiefs?

Kareem Hunt has just signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Chiefs. Now, as happened last season, the veteran will share the load as a running back alongside Isiah Pacheco.

Hunt was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2017 draft, but in 2018, the team released him due to serious legal issues. After that, Kareem played from 2019 to 2023 with the Browns, and in 2024, he returned to Kansas City.
