Ben Roethlisberger admitted that the Pittsburgh Steelers have a very interesting quarterback situation. Mason Rudolph had been preparing as if he were the starter, but Aaron Rodgers has changed everything.

“The big news. Aaron Rodgers is coming to town. The best backups prepare to play, but they also prepare the starter to play. It’s going to be interesting now, all of a sudden, Aaron comes in and it’s going to be unique for him because he’s coming into an offense that he’s never ran.”

Big Ben pointed out that backups are key in the NFL and that Mason has done a very good job considering the absence of the potential starter. Now, the next step is training camp in July.

Who will call plays with Steelers?

Arthur Smith is the offensive coordinator for the Steelers and, after the alleged controversy with Russell Wilson over changing plays in the 2024 season, Roethlisberger said the story will be very different with Rodgers.

“There’s no way you can tell Aaron Rodgers that you can’t check at the line of scrimmage. I mean, I was told that hey told Russ that he couldn’t, but, they’re different players. I get that. I can’t imagine that he’s going to be like: ‘Hey Aaron, you run what I call.’ Every time.”
