Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to receive criticism for the decisions they’ve made ahead of the 2025 season. For example, the long wait for Aaron Rodgers despite the quarterback publicly stating that he is not ready to sign with any team.
Another highly controversial move was the trade that sent George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, especially considering the wide receiver was expected to form a sensational duo with the recently acquired DK Metcalf.
Additionally, in a topic that has received little attention, T.J. Watt still hasn’t received his long-anticipated contract extension. If the Steelers don’t pay him at least $40 million per year to get closer to the money Myles Garrett is making, the star defensive player might start considering trying to win the Super Bowl elsewhere.
Who did Steelers just sign?
Amid all this uncertainty, the Steelers did move quickly to sign almost their entire 2025 draft class, with the exception of Derrick Harmon, who has yet to reach an agreement with the team, though that is expected to happen in the coming days.
The good news is that they already have signed deals with Kaleb Johnson (RB), Jack Sawyer (EDGE), Yahya Black (DT), Will Howard (QB), Carson Bruener (LB), and Donte Kent (CB).
Additionally, the Steelers confirmed they signed eight undrafted rookie free agents: Sebastian Castro (S), J.J. Galbreath (TE), Blake Mangelson (DT), Ben Sauls (K), Roc Taylor (WR), DJ Thomas-Jones (FB), Aiden Williams (G), and Ke’Shawn Williams (WR).
