The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the decision to waive safety Shilo Sanders after the preseason. This means he won’t be a part of the 53-man roster and will go through waivers, where his agents hope he will get claimed by another NFL franchise. As for his brother, Shedeur Sanders was included on the Cleveland Browns roster.

Adam Schefter reported the fact that Shilo was not going to be a part of the Bucs. Sanders was not entirely bad in the preseason. In fact, he had his fair share of ups, but new signings in the secondary and some bad moments might have costed him his job right now. However, his output might be good enough for another team to take a look at him, as his agents said. Sanders’ agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, were quoted by Schefter saying they’re “hoping he gets claimed on waivers.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns decided to keep his brother, Shedeur Sanders, on the roster. Shedeur has been a mediatic boom since arriving on the team and while he had his moments during preseason, he also looked overwhelmed on others. Despite not winning the quarterback battle on the team, he will serve as one of the backups.

Shilo got ejected and that might have been the final blow

Sanders took part of the preseason finale where the Buccaneers played against the Buffalo Bills. He got in a bit of a scuffle with an opposing player and his temper got the best of him, as he punched the Bills player in front of a referee, which ejected him almost immediately.

If you are fighting for a spot, everything matters. That includes being able to keep your temper in check and not cost the team an ejection and/or yards due to penalties.

Shedeur also needs to mature

While still employed by the Browns, Shedeur has also shown character flaws early during his NFL career. The Sanders family is highly mediatic. That also means they need to behave stellarly as they are also in the public eye.

Shedeur has a couple of speeding tickets. He also confronted a journalist after the first preseason game. All in all, Shedeur rubbed some people the wrong way as he has been catalogued as a bit arrogant. The quarterback might have a future in the NFL for sure, but he, just like his brother, needs to understand they are in a position where they are heavily scrutinized.
