Unfortunately, Nick Kyrgios will not be playing in the 2023 US Open, he didn’t play in any other Grand Slam tournaments this year, either

The last time he played was an exhibition match against a big player was against Novak Djokovic in Australia in January. He was supposed to play in the Adelaide International 2, but he withdrew due to a wrist injury.

Kyrgios has never won a Grand Slam before but he came close in 2022 when he lost to Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon being that Grand Slam where he has the most wins with a record of 20-8.

Why is Kyrgios not at the 2023 US Open?

According to tournament organizers, Kyrgios will sit out the 2023 US Open due to a wrist injury, the injury that has kept him out of this tournament is the same injury that forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon.

With his absence at the 2023 US Open being the last Grand Slam of the season, Kyrgios was officially unable to play in any of the big events of the year.

Kyrgios is likely to recover before December and have enough time to play a low profile tournament to close the year with a win and some money in his pocket.
