Arsenal and Liverpool were set to start their seasons with an exciting matchup for the 2020 Community Shield. The Gunners beat Chelsea for the FA Cup title, while Jürgen Klopp's team won its first-ever English Premier League.

Liverpool was heavily favored by oddsmakers entering this match. The Reds were supposed to get an easy win over Mikel Arteta's side at Wembley, but that wasn't the case, as Arsenal hit the ground running in the first half.

In fact, the North London team was able to bounce back from an early goal by Virgil Van Dijk that was ruled out due to offside and jumped to a 1-0 lead at the 12th minute behind a beautiful strike by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who honored Chadwick Boseman with the Wakanda Forever salute in the wake of his shocking passing.

Liverpool struggled to dictate the pace of the game albeit having most of the chances in the first half and it was pretty clear that Klopp had to move a couple of pieces if he wanted to have a shot at leveling the score.

Takumi Minamino and Naby Keita were sent to replace Neco Williams and James Millner, respectively, and the Reds were in absolute control of the game. Their high-octane offense and constant pressure finally allowed them to tie the game after Mo Salah found Minamino in the center of the box at the 73-minute mark.

Arteta sent Josep Willock, Reiss Nelson, and Sead Kolasinac to the pitch with little under 10 minutes to play and the Gunners had a couple of chances to get a late-game lead, but the final score had to be settled from the penalty spot, with wunderkid Rhian Brewster replacing Georginio Wijnaldum right before the shootout.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, it was Brewster the one to miss his penalty, thus handing the Gunners the chance to win. Needless to say, the internet had a lot to say about Arsenal's triumph over Liverpool.

It happens, especially to young players. It's clear that Rhian Brewster has a bright future ahead of him. He excelled last season at Swansea and looked great during the preseason. Then again, the internet is merciless and his unlucky miss won't be forgotten any time soon.
