In their final match before the start of the 2026 World Cup, Germany secured an important victory over the USA. At Soldier Field, with more than 60,000 fans in attendance, the Europeans imposed their quality and arrive motivated for what lies ahead.

The opening goal came early through a Kai Havertz header, just two minutes into the match. As the first half was coming to an end, a stunning strike from Antonee Robinson leveled the score.

Midway through the second half, Leroy Sane showed his quality with a precise shot from outside the box, making it 2–1—the final score with which Germany ultimately secured the win.

Key absences for Germany

Serge Gnabry will miss the World Cup after suffering a severe complete tear of the adductor tendon in his right thigh while playing for his team, Bayern Munich. Lennart Karl, meanwhile, has also been ruled out of the tournament after suffering a recent muscle injury.

Manuel Neuer and Antonio Rüdiger will not play in this friendly match, but they will be part of the World Cup squad.
