It has been a difficult stretch for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as two of their starting pitchers have gone down with injuries leaving the pitching rotation light. Trevor Bauer is on administrative leave and has not pitched since June 18. Clayton Kershaw has been shelved due to a forearm inflammation, and Dustin May underwent Tommy John surgery in May.

Kyle Gibson, 33, is on the second year of a three-year deal with the Rangers and has been pitching very well this season. In 2021 Gibson is on a 6-2 record having struck out 90 batters. His ERA stands at 2.86 and has a great fastball and slider.

Jon Gray recently struck out 7 batters against the Dodgers and stands at a 6-6 record this season. After a poor 2020, the right hander bounced back and possess a strong changeup and slider. Gray’s current contract with the Rockies has him on the road to free agency and could have a low cost attached if the Dodgers pulled the trigger.

Danny Duffy has gone 4-3 this season with a 2.51 ERA and 65 strikeouts. Despite his high salary, $15.5 million, he will be a free agent in 2022 and again could join the franchise at a low value in exchange. A change of scenery may do Duffy good; he has a good fastball, curve, and slider.
