Itās pretty clear that Anthony Edwards has a lot of confidence in him and thatās not necessarily a bad team. At the end of the day, youāre only going to make it in the NBA if you are mentally strong enough to work harder than everybody else.
Then again, it seems like that confidence and blatant honesty have already gotten the first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft into trouble, as there have been some questions about his maturity recently.
Edwards claimedthat he was āliving in a pandemicā before Covid-19 reached the U.S. Then, he said that he wasnāt really into basketball and that he would quit the NBA to join an NFL team, and later, he even took a shot at a league veteran.
Anthony Edwards Says He Can Rap, Unlike Damian Lillard
The latest addition to theMinnesota Timberwolvesā rosterconfessed that he was an aspiring rapper like other NBA players and that he would release his tracks pretty soon. Then, he took a shot at Damian Lillard ā who goes by the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A -during his interview with ESPNās Alex Scarborough:
āHe goes on to say that heās an aspiring rapper. Heās already recorded a few tracks with his older brother Bubba. So, like Damian Lillard? āBut I really can rap,ā he says. āDame, talking about ā I donāt know what heās talking about. Iām rapping like Lil Baby.ā He says he wonāt release any songs until heās established in the NBA,ā the report read.
CJ McCollum Fires Back At Anthony Edwards
Thatās why Portland Trail Blazersā star CJ McCollum didnāt hesitate to fire back at the rook and had his teammatesā back, calling him out in an interview with Complex Sports and daring him to work on his skills:
āHe better work on that jumper. You canāt run in the West,ā McCollum said, and judging by Lillardās personality, you can be pretty sure that heās already looking forward to humbling that young man in the court. Thatās definitely not the way you want to start your career in the NBA.
