LeBron announces he is out for the rest of the season, is it an April Fools' Day prank?

LeBron James just dropped a bomb on twitter shocking all Lakers fans and the NBA nation. But not everyone believes it to be true, the replies are pointing out that this is a joke on James' part.

The Los Angeles Lakers have little or no chance of reaching the playoffs this season, the team has a losing record and it is unlikely that the team will reach the play in tournament. But now things are worse as LeBron James tweeted something that shocked everyone on April 1st.

The Lakers’ season is a disaster, the team has a negative record, as of April 1, 2022, of 31 wins and 45 losses in the 10th spot of the Western Conference. The Lakers most recent game was another loss against Utah Jaz 122-109.

LeBron James hasn’t played for the Lakerssince March 27 due to an injury that has kept him out of action. The Los Angeles Lakers need LeBron James back on the court to win games because without him it’s unlikely the Lakers could even finish the season with a positive record.

What LeBron James said on his twitter account?

James said that he was not going to play again for the rest of the season, in a short tweet and using about three emojis, LeBron did not elaborate on the matter. His tweet says: “I’m out for the season officially. See y’all in the fall.”

Lakers fans mad at LeBron James because of his tweet

The Lakers fans did not take the tweet as a joke for April Fool’s day, on the contrary, the fans attacked James saying that a player of his level should not be making such serious jokes about his personal status.

But it’s still unclear if LeBron James is actually going to retire for the rest of the season and won’t be back until the 2022-23 NBA season. The Los Angeles Lakers still need to confirm if it is true that James will not be available for the upcoming games.
