The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a big-time, explosive offense in the NFL. Spearheaded by quarterback Baker Mayfield and wideout Mike Evans, this team can put 30 points on a consistent basis. However, one of the team’s coaches just warned the league about another weapon on the roster.
New offensive coordinator, Josh Grizzard, spoke on the Joe Bucs Fan show. “I think that where (McMillan) left last season and the progress he showed on and off the field, and you could see that carry over into the spring with not having Chris out there and bringing Emeka along and him showing Emeka the ropes — then his ability to just do that and be himself and really just take off where he left off,” Grizzard said.
McMillan rose to the occasion to close last year. When Chris Godwin went down due to injury, Mike Evans needed another teammate to step up and help him downfield. McMillan was that name. Out of the 461 yards and 8 touchdowns he had in 2024, 316 yards and 7 TDs came from Week 14 to Week 18.
McMillan will be a part of a four-headed monster
Baker Mayfield has plenty of targets to choose from. Mike Evans will continue his Hall of Fame career as the Bucs’ first option. Then, Chris Godwin will be back from his injury and start dominating the right side of the field. McMillan will be there and also joining the WR room, standout rookie Emeka Egbuka, who was a first-round pick this year.

Not to mention, they have another two-headed monster in the backfield with running backs Bucky Irving exploding through defenses and Rachaad White taking the pass-catching and checkdown plays.

Tampa Bay is so stacked on offense that they’ve been able to overcome one of the biggest challenges a team usually faces: losing its offensive coordinator. Two years ago, Dave Canales made a big name for himself by resurrecting Baker Mayfield’s career. Now, he is the Carolina Panthers head coach. Last year, it was Liam Coen’s explosive and creative offense the one that led him to become the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach.
Now, Josh Grizzard is in charge. At only 35 years old, he is showing plenty of promise. Grizzard worked for the Bucs as pass game coordinator last year. Before that, he spent seven years in Miami on different roles, all offense-related.
