“Nobody here is good, but the Bucs win out in terms of the current loss column as well as overall talent and experience,” Gagnon wrote. “They should be able to finally put the Panthers away with two head-to-head matchups in the final three weeks of the season, and outside of that, they face three losing teams in New Orleans, Atlanta and Miami. They’ll be fine.”



“Each of Carolina’s last six wins has come by one score (five of them by a field goal), but there’s a good chance a team that is realistically mediocre on both sides of the ball finally hits a wall with Tampa Bay, Seattle, Tampa Bay in Weeks 16, 17 and 18, respectively,” he added.

He’s had to deal with adversity. To see him get all the (negative) media attention and all this other stuff kind of coming at his ear here and there — fans saying this and that. And just continuing to work hard, put his head down and just do what he does. And then for it to show up the way it does, it’s good to see.”



The Panthers have pulled off big wins this season, but they need to find consistency. That starts with Young, who often swaps terrific performances with quiet games. The San Francisco 49ers will be a good test to see where they stand in Week 12.

McMillan’s performance drew him plenty of praise, with Damien Harris, a former running back turned analyst, giving him his flowers on CBS Sports.&nbsp;



“I want to give some love to Tetairoa McMillan. It was a breakout game for him, but he’s been playing like this all season long, like a true wide receiver one. He hasn’t gotten the love or the credit because the offense has been so poor at times. He’s delivering. This is a cornerstone piece for the Carolina Panthers moving forward,” he said.

“Just trying to move him around, trying to make sure he doesn’t get a hard down every play,” Canales said. “There’s a lot of things that defense can do when you’re singled up, so the goal was trying to just continue to move him around in different spots.”



The Panthers will try to extend their good moment against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. McMillan will have another chance to shine, but the Niners’ defense won’t be an easy matchup.&nbsp;

During his post-game interview with Sarah Kustok of Fox Sports, Young lauded his teammates for putting so much effort and fighting until the end.&nbsp;

Young had a terrific day, despite playing with a heavily taped ankle. He passed Cam Newton for the single-game passing yards record in Panthers history. Young threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns.

According to Adam Schefter, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/michael-penix-jr" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michael Penix Jr.</a> suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury. Still, the quarterback will look for a second opinion. Even with that, it’s not a promising scenario for the second-year signal-caller.



Penix has a long history of knee injuries. He suffered ACL tears to his left knee in both the 2018 and 2020 seasons in college. It seems like a long story of unfortunate events for Penix.



<h2>Who is next on the Falcons QB depth chart?</h2>



If Penix is out, NFL veteran <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirk-cousins" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kirk Cousins</a> is the next man up. He has played in three games this season only starting one of them. Cousins has completed 61.5% of his passes, 250 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Cousins was 7-7 last season with the Falcons and has been on a steep decline since 2023. He had two Pro Bowl seasons in 2021 and 2022, but after that, it’s not been good. He also played against the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carolina-panthers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Panthers</a> last time where they were shut out. The other quarterback is Easton Stick.

<h2>Penix wasn’t stellar either</h2>



Missing Penix is not nice. Still, it’s not like an MVP-caliber quarterback is gone. Penix is still learning the ropes of the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>. He has shown flashes of talent but he was still a middle-of-the-pack quarterback.



Penix is 3-6, completing 60.1% of his passes for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. His passer rating is very average too with an 88.5 rate. The season for the Falcons is almost lost, and the quarterback play is one of the main reasons why.

Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons’ offense rely heavily on their WR1’s production. So far in the 2025 NFL season, London has virtually been the entire passing attack for Atlanta. With him in the lineup, running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier get a big weight off their shoulders. Plus, his presence keeps Carolina on its toes, as Atlanta can be lethal both through the ground and air.

The product out of the University of Southern California has had a magical season in his fourth year in the NFL. So far, through 8 appearances, London registers 53 receptions for 691 receiving yards — 7th best in the league — and 6 touchdown catches, which is tied for fourth most.

<h2>Wipe the slate clean</h2>



The Panthers are a better team than most fans in the NFL gave them credit for coming into the season. Carolina proved its worth with a commanding 30-0 victory over Atlanta—a precedent that is sure to be floating over the Falcons’ heads as they head into the rematch.



There’s much to prove for Raheem Morris’ side. With or without London, the Falcons must change the tune and give the Panthers a taste of their own medicine. If not, falling to 3-7 without yet registering a divisional victory could well be all she wrote for the organization in The Big Peach.

The Panthers didn’t look like their regular selves on Sunday. Asked if the team didn’t put enough effort into practice, rookie linebacker Nic Scourton noted that they could have done a better job to prepare for this game.&nbsp;
