The franchise’s star quarterback offered some advice to his veteran teammate in an attempt to calm things down. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions could be reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation.

Hendrickson finished last season as the NFL leader in sacks, with 17.5. However, he has yet to see action in training camp due to stalled talks over guarantees in a new contract. In the meantime, rumors about potential trade offers continue to circulate.

According to NHL.com, the Lions could be a strong landing spot for Hendrickson if the Bengals decide to push forward with trade negotiations, as they have reportedly opened the door to offers for their pass rusher. At the same time, Burrow had something important to share with his teammate.

Burrow’s advice for Hendrickson

“I think historically, these deals with us have gotten done closer to Week 1,” Burrow told the media after Monday night’s game against the Washington Commanders, according to insider Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“I signed on the Thursday before the first game. Ja’Marr Chase’s started to pick up, you know, that week before last year, too. We were able to Tee Higgins and Chase early this year, so that was great. But I think historically, the way we’ve done business is and that tends to pick up here in the next two weeks, so we’ll see,” Burrow explained.
