The Kansas City Chiefs are the biggest favorites to go the distance and win the Super Bowl once again. Right now, it doesn’t seem like there’s a team in the NFL with an offense so explosive that could keep up with theirhigh-scoring pace.
That’s why their Sunday clash with the New Orleans Saintsand their top-notch defense will steal all of the headlines, as Sean Payton’s team could have a shot at knocking them down right before the start of the playoffs.
And, according to Saints’ star cornerback Marshon Lattimore, they’re fully confident in their ability to keep Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill contained, as they don’t think of them as some kind of super team.
New Orleans Saints’ Marshon Lattimore Doesn’t Think Of The Kansas CityChiefs As A Super Team
“They’ve got a lot of weapons. We’ve got to defend it. And that’s all. You know, they’re great, we’re great. It’s going to be a great battle. I’m not looking at that like, you know, they’re some super team. You know, I feel like we’re stacked, just like they’re stacked. So, we’re going to go out there and play and the best man wins,” Lattimore said, as quoted by Pro Football Talk.
It’s also worth noting that the Saints were reportedly interested in taking Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft before the Chiefs traded up to get their superstar quarterback. Therefore, New Orleans took Lattimore instead.
The New Orleans Saints continue to prove that they’re one of the strongest teams in the world even without Drew Brees under center. Luckily, it seems like their Hall of Famer quarterback will be ready to suit up for one of the most exciting games of the season. Who knows? This game might as well be a preview of the upcoming Super Bowl.
