Aaron Rodgers might be reluctant to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a surprising reason. Andrew Siciliano asked Ross Tucker during The Rich Eisen Show if the fact that the fans donāt embrace the quarterback could be a factor in his final decision.
āI think it does. I think, number one, he doesnāt want to be there for the offseason program. Heās 41 and he doesnāt want to have to go to Pittsburgh for stuff, you know, that he thinks is pointless. There probably is some truth to the consternation regarding the Steelersā fan base. The way they look at it is, heās not that good anymore. Whatās the point to maybe win nine or ten games again and maybe have a first round exit again? Steelersā fans are losing their patience with that.ā
Tucker mentions that many people he knows who are Steelers fans donāt believe they will win the Super Bowl with Rodgers. Because of that, they would prefer a year with Mason Rudolph or Will Howard and, if they fail, have a high pick in 2026.
Who will be the next Steelers starting quarterback?
Aaron Rodgers would be the next starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The entire offseason for Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan has revolved around that. Although they are covered with Mason Rudolph, that would be the plan B.
In fact, the Steelers still have a lot of cash available to spend and, according to many experts, it seems inevitable that amount will be reserved for the contract they will give to Rodgers.
