NFL News: Aaron Rodgers might reportedly change final decision about his next team between Steelers and Vikings

In a surprising twist, Aaron Rodgers' future remains up in the air as reports suggest he might reconsider his final decision on joining either the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Minnesota Vikings. With both teams vying for his talent, the veteran quarterback's next move could be a game-changer.

Aaron Rodgers could still change his final decision on signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Minnesota Vikings, according to a report by Alec Lewis. Everything will depend on J.J. McCarthy’s performance in the coming months.

“McCarthy has not participated in a team workout since last fall. He’ll have that opportunity this spring and summer, and he seems to understand the magnitude of his performance and disposition. The Vikings have yet to round out their quarterback room with another backup besides Rypien. Until that happens, or until Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh (or retires), his fit with Minnesota cannot be ruled out. Again, this underscores the importance of this spring and summer for McCarthy. The Vikings are hoping he solidifies why they picked him at No.10 over the next few weeks and months.”

For several weeks, Rodgers has been analyzing which team gives him the best opportunity to win the Super Bowl. He first showed interest in the Rams, then in the Vikings, but that door closed temporarily, and now it seems that he would be heading to Pittsburgh.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring?

Aaron Rodgers could still consider retirement if he is not comfortable with the plan presented by the Pittsburgh Steelers, or if the Vikings ultimately don’t see him as a better option than J.J. McCarthy.

Pittsburgh practically has no leverage over Rodgers since there are no other star quarterbacks on the market. However, Minnesota is a completely different story due to the championship-caliber roster they have. If McCarthy fails, Aaron would likely welcome that call.

Given this scenario, the big question is how long the quarterback will wait. The Steelers want to sign him now, the Vikings will wait at least until August, and if neither of these options satisfies him, retirement is not off the table.
