Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are making moves in free agency, trying to remain a Super Bowl contender. Now, Jerry Tillery arrives to add more depth to the defensive line, according to a report from Jordan Schultz.

ā€œSources: The Chiefs are signing former Chargers 1st-round DT Jerry Tillery to a 1-year deal. Good depth add to the Kansas City D-Line, as Tillery has recorded 12.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles in 50 career starts.ā€

Although Patrick Mahomes is the leader of this team, the defense will play a key role in a crowded AFC that features quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Geno Smith, and the rise of young talents like C.J. Stroud and Bo Nix.

Who have the Chiefs signed in free agency?

In addition to Tillery, the Chiefs have signed cornerback Kristian Fulton and re-signed linebackers Nick Bolton and Cole Christiansen on defense. On offense, Hollywood Brown, Kareem Hunt, and Trey Smith remain with the team on new contracts.

Among their key departures are Justin Reid (S), Joe Thuney (G), DeAndre Hopkins (WR), Justin Watson (WR), and Samaje Perine (RB). It’s important to note that Travis Kelce is not retiring and that Patrick Mahomes restructured his contract to create salary cap space.
