Cam Heyward keeps appearing on different TV shows and podcasts, trying to clarify what he really said about Aaron Rodgers and his possible arrival to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, on Good Morning Football, the defensive star reiterated that he never intended to pressure the quarterback and only said that he would never go on a darkness retreat to make a decision.

ā€œIt was misconstrued. From my point of view, I was asked a question: ā€˜Would you go to the lengths of going to a darkness retreat to recruit Aaron Rodgers?’ I said: ā€˜I’m not doing that. The pitch is, if you want to be a Steeler, be a Steeler.’ That’s all it was. It wasn’t that I don’t like Aaron Rodgers or I’m against it.ā€

Rodgers is still waiting to choose between the Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings as those are his only remaining options. Undoubtedly, the second one could give him a great chance to conquer the Super Bowl.

Will Aaron Rodgers sign with Steelers to join Mike Tomlin?

The Steelers want to sign Aaron Rodgers, but the final decision has not yet been made by the player. Everything will depend on how long he is willing to wait. Heyward made a new pitch to the star quarterback.

ā€œI have not had any communication with him. I was with some strength coaches that day he was in the building. I think they were trying to get everybody out of the building so they could have a conversation with him. What I would say to him, ā€˜If you come to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the goal is to win. We haven’t had the success we want, but the goal is still in mind to raise the Lombardi and bring the seventh one to Pittsburgh. We don’t really care about the glitz and glam of New York, but the focus is on good, hard football, competing every day, challenging each other,’ and we’ve gotta go from there.ā€
