The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the 2025 season with a new vision under head coach Liam Coen, who was chosen with the clear intention of reigniting the project with Trevor Lawrence as the focal point. The franchise is betting on a revitalized offense.
During training camp, Jacksonville expects to see visible progress. Lawrence has been gaining confidence in the new offensive system, improving his game speed, progressions, and anticipation, though he admits thereās still work to be done.
The relationship between a new head coach and his quarterback always develops gradually. In that sense, Coen didnāt miss the opportunity to make clear what he thinks about Lawrence, ahead of the preseason games and a new debut in the big leagues.
What did Coen say about Lawrence?
āIāve been watching him since he was a freshman in high school⦠I wasnāt recruiting him, I was at Brown, but I followed him from afar. When you see him, you notice his humility and the sense that he has something to prove⦠he knows what he can do,ā Coen told NFL Network.

Head coach Liam Coen of the Jacksonville Jaguars speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center on February 25, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
āHeās led one of the biggest playoff comebacks. Heās mentally and physically tough. Now itās about helping him in every possible way to give him the best chance to succeed,ā Coen added, referring to the young quarterbackās potential.
