Joe Burrow will want to make a deep run in the 2025 NFL season and compete for a Super Bowl title. To help achieve that, the Cincinnati Bengals have secured the signing of a veteran defensive player who shared the field with Trevor Lawrence on the Jacksonville Jaguars during more than one stint.
The contract extensions of Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase are an important step for the Bengals to remain strong heading into the upcoming season. With their offensive stars locked in, the next move is to add depth on defense, and Cincinnati is once again getting to work on that front.
The Jaguars had a season to forget last year, but with the arrival of Liam Coen as head coach, the Jacksonville franchise has clear expectations for Lawrence heading into the upcoming campaign. The young quarterback will be losing a teammate who didn’t see much action in 2024.
Bengals sign new teammate for Burrow
The Bengals have confirmed the signing of linebacker Joe Giles-Harris to a one-year deal for the 2025 NFL season, the team announced. Last season, he played in just two games with Jacksonville and will be a depth addition to the roster led by quarterback Burrow.

Giles-Harris’s NFL Career
Giles-Harris began his NFL journey by joining the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2019. Throughout his career, he has played three seasons in Jacksonville, including the 2024 campaign. He also had stints with the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots.

It is clear that the Bengals are not signing him with the intention of giving him a starting role, but rather to add depth and support to the defensive unit. Giles-Harris has appeared in 22 regular-season games throughout his career, with only three starts.
