“49ers owe WR Brandon Aiyuk a $22.85 million bonus if he’s on their roster Tuesday, April 1. Once the 49ers pay that bonus, any trade talks for Aiyuk would be off, and he would be expected to spend the 2025 season in San Francisco. So Tuesday looms as Aiyuk’s unofficial trade deadline, and no deal currently is expected by then.”
It’s important to remember that just a few weeks ago, the 49ers lost Deebo Samuel in a trade with the Commanders. Therefore, if they want to remain Super Bowl contenders, they couldn’t afford to let Aiyuk go.
Will 49ers trade Brandon Aiyuk?
No. Schefter’s information indicates that the 49ers are not considering trading Aiyuk, and all their attention will be focused on the expected contract extension for their quarterback, Brock Purdy.
Last season, many rumors linked the wide receiver to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that move never materialized. This year, uncertainty returned, but Mike Tomlin chose DK Metcalf to possible pair him with Aaron Rodgers.
