The Los Angeles Rams know that to become Super Bowl champions again, they need to rely on the players who previously led the team to glory in the 2025 NFL season. In that sense, rallying behind star quarterback Matthew Stafford is a logical tactical decision.

Stafford will continue his career with the Rams after a quiet offseason during which he took some time to decide his future. After productive talks, the former Super Bowl champion is now set to keep playing alongside a veteran teammate.

Every position is important when it comes to building a potential title contender. While the Rams are taking a step-by-step approach this offseason, head coach Sean McVay knows he will have a familiar face on board, as a player he knows well has signed a new contract with Los Angeles.

Who is the player who reunites with Stafford on the Rams?

The Rams have agreed to a one-year deal with linebacker Troy Reeder, who originally joined Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent in 2019. The 30-year-old was part of the Super Bowl LVI championship team alongside quarterback Matthew Stafford, when they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals.

Reeder’s career in the NFL

After beginning his professional career with the Rams, where he won the league title, Reeder crossed over to join the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. In the 2023 season, he continued his career with the Minnesota Vikings before returning to the Rams, where he has now signed a contract extension.

Last season was somewhat challenging for Reeder, as he struggled to find consistency and play multiple games in a row with the Rams. He appeared in six games, limited by a hamstring injury. Despite that, his versatile profile remains a valuable asset for Los Angeles.
