Not every team can afford to cut a former Super Bowl champion. In this case, the Indianapolis Colts, in the midst of a hectic offseason, decided to release a teammate of quarterback Anthony Richardson, who won an NFL title alongside star Matthew Stafford while with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Colts will have to determine who their starting quarterback will be for the 2025 NFL season, as Richardsonā€˜s role is no longer guaranteed following the arrival of Daniel Jones. In this context, the quarterback competition in Indianapolis is not the only focus. What also stands out is the roster shakeup within a team that failed to reach the playoffs last season.

The Colts are determined to rebuild their team and compete for a deep run in the upcoming NFL season. Letting go of a Super Bowl champion might not be an easy decision to bear, considering the valuable experience he could bring to a team that hasn’t won a postseason game since 2018.
