While Stafford still threw for two touchdowns (both to Davante Adams), the Rams fell just short of winning the game. Back in March, the Rams signed linebacker Nate Landman to a veteran minimum salary of $1.1 million. Not only did Landman earned a starting job, but he is playing at a Pro Bowl level. According to Ian Rapoport of <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a> Network, the Rams gave Landman a three-year, $22.5 million contract with $15 million guaranteed.



Landman was an undrafted rookie out of Colorado that played under the minimum salary in Atlanta until last year. Curiously the only player in the NFL to be born in Zimbabwe, Landman will do in this contract alone, more than he has done in the entirety of his career.



<h2>Landman has become a staple on the Rams defense</h2>



At 27 years old, Landman is entering his prime. He has started all 10 games for the Rams this year, has four passes defended, 1.5 sacks, leads the NFL in forced fumbles (4) and leads the team with 91 tackles.

Landman is another key part of this defense that also has Byron Young and Jared Verse as an elite pass rushing duo. In the secondary, they have four players with two interceptions and two with at least one. The Rams have the second-best scoring defense in the NFL.

While the Rams understand Adams will not be a a 1,600-yard receiver, they still give him between six and 10 targets a game. Most of them are in the redzone. Adams has 42 catches this year and more than 20% of them have been touchdowns. He has nine scores in nine games.

Adams is on pace to reach 1,000 yards as he has 568 already. He leads the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a> in receiving touchdowns, something that he has done twice in his career. in 2020, he had 18, and in 2022, he had 14. The three-time All Pro is still delivering.

Justin Herbert sits atop the passing yards leaderboard with 1,913 total yards, while Jonathan Taylor continues to dominate the ground game with 697 rushing yards.



Of course, quarterbacks are nothing without their receivers. Heading into Week 8, Jaxon Smith-Njigba ranks No. 1 in receiving yards with 819. He’s been a fantasy football favorite all season, delivering his third straight 120+ yard performance and third consecutive game with a touchdown.



Amon-Ra St. Brown also stands out this week, recording seven receiving touchdowns for Detroit. His chemistry with <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jared-goff">Jared Goff</a> has been a major factor, as Goff enters Week 8 tied for first in passer rating (116.4) alongside rookie standout Drake Maye, who’s expected to post at least 15+ fantasy points this week.



<h2>The Top 10 Quarterbacks</h2>



There are three main lists tracking quarterback leaders: total touchdowns, passer rating, and passing yards, all stats provided by Pro Football Reference. <h2>McVay’s optimism</h2>



There’s no question that Nacua’s absence is a major setback for a Rams offense with, at the very least, serious playoff aspirations. Yet, rather than express concern, head coach Sean McVay shared a sense of optimism regarding the possibility of having his top wide receiver back in the near future.

“He’s making good progress. I am very optimistic about hopefully having him ready after the bye. I think it’ll serve him well and I have confidence in our other receivers to be able to step up,” the HC said via @AdamSchefter.



It’s also worth noting that after their game against the Jaguars, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-rams">Rams</a> will get a much-needed break with a Week 8 bye — a timely pause at a critical point in the season. They’ll return to action in Week 9, hosting the New Orleans Saints at SoFi Stadium on November 2.
