Shedeur Sanders finally visited the Pittsburgh Steelers while head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan wait for Aaron Rodgers to make his final decision. During an interview with Kay Adams, the star prospect from Colorado expressed how happy he was to get to know one of the most important franchises in the NFL firsthand.
“It was a 10. I enjoyed my time in Pittsburgh. I connected well with all the coaches and it was really fun. The best part of the day of course was talking football. It’s my favorite part. It’s just really getting to know each other.”
Although the Steelers believe Shedeur could be the franchise quarterback of the future to become a Super Bowl contender, everything will depend on whether he falls to the No. 21 spot.
Will Steelers draft Shedeur Sanders or sign Aaron Rodgers?
The Steelers would draft Shedeur Sanders if he falls to the 21st pick, according to several reports. In that scenario, it’s possible the quarterback would have to serve as Aaron Rodgers’ backup if the veteran also signs with the team.
The young prospect said he would have no problem learning from Rodgers, although he admitted that they didn’t talk about him during his visit. “We didn’t talk about anybody. If that’s the way that things play out, that’s how it’ll play out (learn behind Rodgers). I wouldn’t question what God has planned for me.”
