It seems like the Russell Wilson situation with the Seattle Seahawks is escalating pretty quickly. If you asked any person around the NFL a couple of weeks ago, they'd most likely tell you that Wilson and the Seahawks will stay together until his retirement. Now, the future of the dual-threat quarterback isn't as clear, as the Super Bowl champion has voiced his thoughts and concerns over the organization lately, and, apparently; that rubbed the team's front office the wrong way.

Wilson and his camp are reportedly frustrated at the Seahawks' inability to protect him, as he's been sacked nearly 400 times during his 9 seasons in the league and that could take a toll not only on his career but also on his life.

And, while the Seahawks understand his concerns and would love to address that situation, the fact that Wilson went on record to voice his frustration has made their relationship reach a complicated point.

Seattle Seahawks' Management Is Unhappy With Russell Wilson

“A source told me that the Seahawks’ management is not happy with Russell Wilson and his camp for taking this to the media. You wonder if they’re going to be able to co-exist. (...) The current situation is not sustainable. That’s what I was told," Dan Patrick reported on his show, as quoted by Pro Football Talk.

Wilson Says He's Frustrated At The Seahawks

Wilson has been all over the news lately and has made some strong statements over his feelings towards the Seahawks, claiming that he's done getting hit and even saying he doesn't know whether he's available in trade talks or not:

“I’m frustrated at getting hit too much. I’m frustrated with that. At the end of the day, man, you want to win, you know (...) I think that the reality is that I’ve definitely been hit, been sacked, I don’t know, almost 400 times," Wilson started.

"I’ve always put my trust in the Seahawks and trying to do whatever it takes to win and hopefully that will continue (...) I’m not sure if I’m available or not. That’s a Seahawks question. I definitely believe they’ve gotten calls," he concluded.

Needless to say, there would be at least half-a-dozen teams waiting in line hoping to trade for one of the best quarterbacks in the league, so we'll have to wait and see how this situation unfolds as we enter the offseason.
