According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the third-year wideout won’t have his disciplinary hearing with the league in New York until Tuesday, September 30. This means he’ll continue to be eligible for the start of the 2025 season.

The expected date for the hearing would allow Rice to play for the Chiefs in the first four weeks before any potential sanction is imposed on him for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy during the 2024 offseason.

In the event Rice’s hearing takes place on Sept. 30 as expected and the NFL ends up suspending him, the first game he could miss would be the Monday Night Football showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 6. However, it remains to be seen whether Rice will actually miss any games, and if so, how many.
