Still, the last two seasons have been challenging for Kelce. Despite winning the Super Bowl in the 2023 NFL season, his individual performances have raised concerns, with some fans even questioning whether the tight end should retire.

After two years in which Kelce was not at his usual best, many wondered if he might retire this offseason. He has dismissed that notion, promising to come back stronger in 2025.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Kelce admitted he struggled significantly over the past two seasons. Still, he says he’s motivated to bounce back and chase a fourth Super Bowl ring.

“I think it might have slipped a little bit because I did have a little bit more focus in trying to set myself up,” Travis Kelce said. “And opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer. I don’t say this as ‘I shouldn’t have done it.’ I’m just saying that my work ethic is such that I have so much pride in how I do things that I never want the product to tail off, and I feel like these past two years haven’t been to my standard. I just have such a motivation to show up this year for my guys. Win a Super Bowl is the only goal. It’s the only goal. It’s every goal.”

Will the 2025 NFL season be Travis Kelce’s last?

By the end of the 2024 campaign, speculation grew that Kelce would retire. The Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles fueled the belief that his career might be nearing its end.
