The Titans have had a less-than-ideal start to the season, even though expectations were not set very high at the beginning of the competition. Their performance was anticipated to be less spectacular, but the team’s record of 2-4 after six games, has sparked discussions about the possibility of a major overhaul.

A recent move that suggests the Titans might be contemplating a reconfiguration for the 2024 season is the trade they executed on Monday, sending one of their star players, Kevin Byard, elsewhere. This trade has given rise to speculation about the potential availability of other key players, including Derrick Henry and DeAndre Hopkins, as reported by Jordan Schultz of The Score.

Both Henry and Hopkins are considered the most valuable assets on the Titans’ roster. Furthermore, the running back turns 30 years old before the season. Henry, in particular, is in the last year of his current contract, making it improbable that the team will secure another contract for him. This situation means they could lose him for nothing next year.

Two More Players Could Also Be on the Move

As for Hopkins, although he recently joined the team as a free agent, the wide receiver could potentially become a valuable trade asset, especially given the offensive issues the Titans are currently facing. However, in addition to Henry and Hopkins, there are two more players who could potentially find new homes in the coming week, with the trade deadline set for October 31st.

One of these players is Kristian Fulton, who has thus far had an underwhelming career compared to the promise he showed when he was drafted in the second round in 2020. With the cornerback appearing with a contract expiring next March, the Titans may be able to get something back like a swap of late-round draft selections for a team needing depth on defense.

Another player who stands out as a potential trade candidate is Ryan Tannehill. Trading away the starting quarterback would undoubtedly signal that the Titans are no longer prioritizing success in this season. They have two young quarterbacks on the roster, but their capabilities remain uncertain.

Both Malik Willis, a third-round pick in 2022, and rookie Will Levis, a second-round pick, might see increased playing time especially following Tannehill’s injury as the team assesses what they have with them. It’s worth noting that Tannehill is also set to become a free agent after this season.
