The Boston Bruins completed a big three-team trade in the NHL, as Trent Frederic was sent to the Edmonton Oilers ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The move reflected the organization’s seller approach to the upcoming trade deadline, and one teammate of Brad Marchand in Boston dropped an honest admission about it.
The Bruins lost during their first game without Frederic, as the visiting Nashville Predators defeated them 6-3 at TD Garden. The frustrating loss further worsened an already low morale in the locker room.
As the Bruins fall further in the NHL standings and their postseason hopes begin to slip away, panic is starting to settle in Beantown. Forward Mark Kastelic made a clear statement on the frustration as two teammates, Trent Frederic and Max Jones, left the franchise.
“It’s a tough day for everybody,” Kastelic said, per Yahoo! Sports. “Trent was an amazing teammate, so was Max. I’ll always remember him for having my back out here. Definitely sad to see him go. Hopefully, all the best, and he’s gonna get a lot of opportunity there.”

While the trade impacted the team’s psychological aspect, along with Marchand’s absence due to an upper-body injury, the Bruins must bounce back and keep the boat afloat.

David Pastrnak disliked their recent outing against the Predators, sending a clear message to his teammates about their crushing loss at home to Nashville.
“In a tight game, we could have grabbed momentum after our goals, but unfortunately it went the other way,” Pastrnak firmly stated postgame, per NHL.com. “It’s not the first time it’s happened this season, so it’s definitely a momentum killer, and you can’t win hockey games like that.”
