The Colorado Avalanche made an important move to help Nathan MacKinnon and remain a Stanley Cup contender. Dave Hakstol joins as assistant coach, and this was the message from the team’s general manager, Chris MacFarland.
“Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience behind the bench and he will be a great fit on Jared’s staff He has an extensive coaching background with a lot of success and that’s why he’ll be a valuable addition to our team.”
Despite winning 49 games in the regular season, Colorado once again failed in the playoffs with a seven-game loss against the Dallas Stars. Now, the Avalanche want to take the next step.
Who is the new signing for the Avalanche?
Dave Hakstol joins the Colorado Avalanche after three seasons as the head coach of the Seattle Kraken. As the first leader of that expansion team, Hakstol made one playoff appearance in those three years and accumulated 107 regular-season wins.
