Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche will try to remain a championship contender after a painful playoff loss last season to the Dallas Stars. That’s why, in recent days, the rumors keep swirling.
The strongest of them, which has already been denied by MacKinnon himself, was the possible arrival of Sidney Crosby from the Pittsburgh Penguins. Even Crosby’s agent stepped in to dismiss any possibility.
Now, looking a bit further ahead to 2026, Connor McDavid has emerged as another potential option to help the Avalanche. However, we’ll still have to wait a few more months to see how that unfolds.
Who did the Avalanche just sign?
The Colorado Avalanche just signed Dave Hakstol as an assistant coach. Between 2015 and 2018, he had the opportunity to serve as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, and he held the same role with the Seattle Kraken from 2021 to 2024.
Additionally, between 2019 and 2021, Hakstol was an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs, led by Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. Now, Dave will look to help Colorado take that big step toward the Stanley Cup.
