Brad Marchand, Aaron Ekblad, and Sam Bennett could face a historic new challenge after winning the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers. Now, all three have received NHL approval to play with Team Canada at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
If their spots on the roster are confirmed, the Panthers’ stars would join spectacular names like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Mitch Marner in the quest for a gold medal.
Obviously, all the attention would be on the Last Dance of the Pittsburgh Penguins legend with his country, backed by an impressive roster that will likely face its biggest rival in the United States.
Will NHL players play in the 2026 Olympics?
Yes. NHL players have been allowed to participate in the 2026 Olympics, which will take place in Milan-Cortina. This permission has not been granted since the 2014 Olympics, where hockey was a highlight in Sochi.
Canada will arrive as the clear favorite for the gold medal after winning the Four Nations tournament this year. However, Team USA could be very close as top rival in Italy.
