Sidney Crosby will not leave the Pittsburgh Penguins. In one of the most anticipated news stories of recent weeks, Rob Rossi has confirmed that the player’s agent, Pat Brisson, has shut down all the rumors surrounding the Canadian star.
“Pat Brisson, agent for Sidney Crosby, told me just now in text message that speculation about Crosby leaving Penguins are ‘baseless rumors.’ So, there’s a name for you, too.”
The Penguins are going through a very difficult time in the NHL as they try to rebuild a roster that can help Crosby compete for another Stanley Cup. However, the first big step for the team was keeping their legend, and that is now secured.
Will Sidney Crosby be traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins?
No. Sidney Crosby will not be traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins under any circumstances. In fact, during the 2025 NHL Draft, the team’s general manager, Kyle Dubas, echoed the statement made by the player’s agent.
Dubas was very clear. All efforts in the coming weeks will focus on giving Crosby a competitive roster so the Penguins can once again become a dominant force. Sidney is 37 years old, so there’s no room for error anymore.
