Barcelona and Real Madrid are ready to take the field and do battle for bragging rights in LaLiga. Barcelona enters the match on a high after defeating Valencia over the weekend and changing a bit in formation and shifting players that produced a very good victory.

Real Madrid is second in LaLiga standings after suffering an unexpected defeat to RCD Espanyol, ironically of Barcelona, 2-1. Now the spotlight is on the Nou Camp and another edition of one of the sport's biggest rivalries.

For Barcelona a win over Real Madrid will get them back on track, while Real Madrid want to add to Barcelona’s problems. On the field there will be the only American to play in the Spanish derby so far, if you live in the USA, you can watch the Spanish Clasico live on ESPN+!

The only American to play in a Barcelona vs Real Madrid is current USMNT standout Sergiño Dest. The 20-year-old defensive back has been with Barcelona since 2020 and has played 38 games and scored 2 goals. Dest played in his first derby last season where Barcelona fell 3-1 to Real Madrid but Dest’s performance was praised by the Spanish media.

Before playing at Barcelona, Dest played for Ajax where he only played 23 games before a €21 million fee to the Catalan giants. Dest has 15 caps for the USMNT and has scored 2 goals, one being recently against Costa Rica in World Cup qualifying.

If you are a USMNT fan or want to see an American in action in Spanish soccer’s biggest game, you can see all the action on ESPN+.
