Being good in one or two sports doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to be good in another. Yes, there are some skills that could translate from one sport to the other and being in good shape and athleticism could make it easier for you, but that doesn’t mean you’ll instantly dominate.
Someone should have told that to former NBA player Nate Robinson. He used to be a talented football player in college and had a nice career in the Association, even winning 3 Slam Dunk contest despite his height.
Robinson thought that his athletic traits and never-ending hustle would help him beat YouTuber Jake Paul in a boxing fight. He created a lot of buzz around it on social media until Paul finally agreed to meet him in the ring.
Paul and Robinson faced off before the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr main event. Most people thought that Robinson was goig to hand Jake an easy loss, as Paul had only been in the boxing game for a year and only had one pro fight in his résumé.

But as you may know by now, this was a disaster from start to finish. Clearly, Nate didn’t have the slightest clue of what he was doing. He was literally running into Jake’s punches, trying to overdo things, and he never stood a chance.
At the end of the day, Jake Paul gave him the hands and knocked him out in the second round in a way we hadn’t seen since Many Pacquiao kissed the floor some years ago. Check out the funniest memes and reactions about it here.

All jokes aside, Robinson should have given this some thought. You’re literally putting your life at risk in front of millions of people. Regardless of who your rival is, you should never jump into a ring without knowing how to, you know, box.
