Roger Goodell, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-mac-jones-patriots-offense-looking-terrible-in-training-camp-20220809-0005.html" target="_blank">NFL </a>Commissioner, explained the reasons why the league is trying to get a bigger suspension for Deshaun Watson and the relevance of having independence on the investigations. 
"We've seen the evidence", Goodell said after&nbsp;Tuesday's Special League Meeting in Minneapolis. "[Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson] was very clear about the evidence, should we enforce the evidence. That there was multiple violations here, and they were egregious, and it was predatory behavior. Those are things that we always felt were important for us to address in a way that's responsible." 
According to ESPN and Sports Illustrated, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-the-settlement-offer-that-would-have-suspended-deshaun-watson-for-less-than-a-year-20220804-0033.html" target="_blank">NFL offered a settlement to Deshaun Watson</a> that could have suspended him for eight games, but he did not accept it. On Wednesday, the league appealed the disciplinary decision, aiming to extend the quarterback's time&nbsp;on the sidelines.&nbsp;But for how long does the NFL want&nbsp;him suspended? 
<h2>Rumor: NFL seeks for indefinite suspension for Deshaun Watson</h2> 
According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, the NFL wants an indefinite&nbsp;suspension for Watson with a minimum of a full season as well as a monetary fine&nbsp;for violating the league's personal conduct policy.&nbsp; 
"I&rsquo;m told NFL is appealing for an indefinite suspension that would be a minimum of one year," Darlington tweeted. "But perhaps more significant given the structure of Watson&rsquo;s contract, source tells me the NFL&rsquo;s appeal will also include a monetary fine. Money is now a significant part of the equation.&rdquo; 
Watson could take this to federal court and&nbsp;still get to play in Week 1 vs. the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-baker-mayfield-was-shocked-by-how-things-ended-with-browns-20220712-0035.html" target="_blank">Carolina Panthers</a>, as long as his camp files a restraining order that gets accepted. 
That would mean, however, Watson risking to face much higher penalties than if he serves his suspension this year. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold, but one thing is for sure: this is far from over.

NFL appeals Deshaun Watson suspension: How long would it want him out for?

After months of speculation, we finally know how long <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/deshaun-watson-case-what-does-the-nflpa-mean-by-will-stand-by-the-judge-ruling-20220801-0001.html" target="_blank">Deshaun Watson</a> will be on the sidelines.&nbsp;The former <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/2022-houston-texans-hc-lovie-smith-second-nfl-black-coach-wife-family-and-career-20220222-0016.html" target="_blank">Houston Texans</a> star will be suspended for six weeks, but he's free to join the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-deshaun-watsons-potential-suspension-revealed-amid-federal-lawsuit-threat-20220719-0005.html" target="_blank">Cleveland Browns</a> for practice as soon as Week 4. 
Some believed that the NFL would look to make an example out of him and suspend him for an entire&nbsp;year, and Watson's camp was reportedly ready to sue the league if that happened. So now, the team will have to hold down the fort without him: 
"<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-deshaun-watson-could-face-year-long-suspension-and-still-play-this-season-20220701-0003.html" target="_blank">Browns</a> coach Kevin Stefanski said at the start of training camp last week that Jacoby Brissett would become Cleveland's starter in the event of a Watson suspension," reported Jake Trotter of ESPN. "Through the first week of camp, Watson took the majority of the snaps with the first-team offense, but Stefanski indicated the Browns "may adjust" their plan following Robinson's ruling." 
<h2>NFL News: Browns Won't Make A Trade For Another QB</h2> 
Clearly, the Browns are high on Brissett and don't think they need to add more depth a the QB position. According to NFL Network's James Palmer, they won't engage in talks for Jimmy Garoppolo or any other quarterback: 
"From a football standpoint, the #browns are currently going &nbsp;with Jacoby Brissett for the first 6 games of the season and are not actively looking outside the building at quarterbacks," Palmer reported. 
Brissett has some nice pedigree for a backup QB. He had stints with the New England Patriots and was even the starter for the Indianapolis Colts, amassing 7,742 passing yards, 653 rushing yards, 49 total TDs, and 17 INTs throughout his career. 
So, even though he's not Deshaun Watson, the Browns could do a lot worse for their first six games against the Panthers, Jets, Steelers, Falcons, Chargers, and Patriots before Watson's potential debut against the Ravens in Week 7.

NFL News: Who'll replace Deshaun Watson while he's suspended?

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/super-bowl-2022-ring-value-how-much-does-the-nfl-championship-ring-cost-20220110-0019.html" target="_blank">Cleveland Browns</a> are almost ready for the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-2022-2023-when-does-the-next-season-start-20220213-0008.html" target="_blank">upcoming 2022-2023 NFL season</a> but there is still unfinished business and it's no small thing, it's about their future starting <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/super-bowl-2023-where-and-when-will-the-super-bowl-lvii-be-played-20220212-0034.html" target="_blank">quarterback</a> Deshaun Watson. On August 1, 2022, his final suspension will be known. 
Before the scandal bomb exploded, Deshaun Watson was the<a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/super-bowl-all-time-winners-complete-list-of-super-bowl-champions-by-year-20220213-0004.html" target="_blank"> Houston Texans</a> quarterback from 2017 to 2021. But after the whole thing with the female massage therapists came to light, his career stalled. 
As of March 18, 2022, he is a Brown's player thanks to a first-round picks (three) trade and another pair of third and fourth round picks. It was a controversial move and more so with the guaranteed contract he signed of $230 million. 
<h2>The NFLPA said they would support the judge's decision, but what does that mean?</h2> 
The NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) said they will support Judge Robinson's decision on Watson's case and they further recommend the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/what-nfl-player-has-the-most-super-bowl-rings-20220110-0015.html" target="_blank">NFL </a>do the same. The association said all that in a tweet on Sunday, July 31. 
That means that it is very likely that the NFLPA already knows the decision that the judge will take on August 1, it is likely that the decision will be 'soft' against <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/top-25-nfl-teams-with-most-fans-20200501-0001.html" target="_blank">Watson</a>, one or two games of suspension for the upcoming season and the NFLPA would support that decision. 
But the NFLPA also said that the NFL must also support the judge's decision although it is not mandatory but the NFLPA knows that Roger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) could take a different decision regarding Watson's suspension since the NFL has the last word if they accept or not the judge's decision, Goodell could suspend Watson for a year or more.
