However, the 41-year-old may not be the only quarterback the coach is interested in.



The latest word on the street is that Tomlin is a huge admirer of Colorado product Shedeur Sanders, who is heading into the 2025 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> Draft as one of the most exciting quarterbacks of his class.



“I tend to trust where I get this information. Mike Tomlin really likes Shedeur. If he’s there at 21, Shedeur could very well be a Pittsburgh Steeler,” Todd McShay of The Ringer said on The McShay Show.



McShay isn’t the only one hearing that rumor though. With <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/aaron-rodgers">Rodgers</a> still mysterious about his future, Jeff Hathhorn of 93.7 The Fan adds that Shedeur would also like to play under Tomlin in Pittsburgh.

“Yeah, there is mutual respect, mutual interest,” Hathhorn said. “I think it starts with his father and then trickles down to the son. It’s no secret the Steelers are interested in a quarterback. They need a quarterback and Shedeur is high on their list.”

“I told you, Aaron Rodgers doesn’t buy Pittsburgh, it’s fool’s gold,” Cowherd said on The Herd With Colin Cowherd, via Sports Illustrated. “Defensive coach, two needy receivers, bad o-line, lost Najee Harris. And here we are. Aaron Rodgers is just waiting it out. I think it’s the right move. I believe he wants to go to San Francisco if the [Brock] Purdy contract doesn’t work, or <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/minnesota-vikings">Minnesota</a>. I think he’s right to want that. I don’t think he should sign with Pittsburgh.”

Rodgers is also believed to be thrilled about the Vikings, but that’s not something new. Unsurprisingly, Harris’ criticism didn’t sit well with his former teammates. During a recent appearance on Christin Kuntz’s podcast, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-steelers">Steelers</a> tight end Pat Freiermuth revealed he talked to the running back about it.



“It’s going to be tough, but I’m happy for [Harris] and his new opportunity,” Freiermuth said. “I didn’t agree with the way he went out. I called him about it, and we talked. Every guy is different.”



Freiermuth and Harris were part of the same draft class, with both being selected by the Steelers in 2021.
