Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly interested in a trade for Allen Lazard to reunite him with his former teammate, Aaron Rodgers. The information was revealed by Mike Florio.

“I fully expect that sooner than later, and no later than training camp, the Steelers will trade for Jets’ wide receiver, Allen Lazard. Been waiting for that one to happen. They’ve been waiting to know what Rodgers was going to do. Lazard is a perfect compliment because Lazard, when he’s with Rodgers, he plays really well. When he’s not with Rodgers, he does not play very well.”

After George Pickens’ departure to the Dallas Cowboys, several rumors suggest that the Steelers are looking for a new wide receiver who can make a big impact alongside DK Metcalf. They need help to compete in the AFC against teams like the Chiefs, the Bills or the Ravens.

Other names that have been mentioned as possibilities for the Steelers are Gabe Davis and Keenan Allen. However, it’s also true that Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan have expressed full confidence in Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson.

Another key point is that, in their search for playmakers, Pittsburgh is also reportedly looking for a tight end to give Rodgers another target. Names like Jonnu Smith and Kyle Pitts are real options.
