Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly interested in a trade for Allen Lazard to reunite him with his former teammate, Aaron Rodgers. The information was revealed by Mike Florio.
âI fully expect that sooner than later, and no later than training camp, the Steelers will trade for Jetsâ wide receiver, Allen Lazard. Been waiting for that one to happen. Theyâve been waiting to know what Rodgers was going to do. Lazard is a perfect compliment because Lazard, when heâs with Rodgers, he plays really well. When heâs not with Rodgers, he does not play very well.â
After George Pickensâ departure to the Dallas Cowboys, several rumors suggest that the Steelers are looking for a new wide receiver who can make a big impact alongside DK Metcalf. They need help to compete in the AFC against teams like the Chiefs, the Bills or the Ravens.
Steelers could sign wide receiver or tight end
Other names that have been mentioned as possibilities for the Steelers are Gabe Davis and Keenan Allen. However, itâs also true that Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan have expressed full confidence in Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson.
Another key point is that, in their search for playmakers, Pittsburgh is also reportedly looking for a tight end to give Rodgers another target. Names like Jonnu Smith and Kyle Pitts are real options.
