The Green Bay Packers are facing the Pittsburgh Steelers this 2025 NFL season. This is usually an interesting matchup between two traditional franchises. This year, the game will take an added spice as two former teammates will battle it out. Jordan Love will try to beat his former mentor in Aaron Rodgers, new quarterback for the black and gold. Needless to say, Love already gave some words about his relationship with A-Rod.
Love is a former first-round pick and his selection caused lots of controversy. At the time, Rodgers was winning MVP with the Packers and he needed weapons, not a backup. Three years passed and Rodgers left Green Bay. This gave Love his opportunity to silence the doubters. However, Rodgers has a reputation of not being a great mentor and has a bizarre personality. About that, Love has given a rather surprising revelation.
The Packers’ signal-caller stated “I appreciate definitely the way A-Rod handled being in that situation. and I think a big part of it was that he knew how it was for him being in that same position. The things that he went through and the way the situation might’ve been handled.” This may be shocking for some, considering that Rodgers isn´t seen as a welcoming guy by many fans.
Love added that, “In my time with A-Rod, we had a great relationship. It was awesome being in the same room with him, being able to learn. He was amazing with everything.“ This pretty much disipates any concerns about Rodgers’ character.

Packers and Steelers will face off in Week 8 this NFL season
Since Rodgers signed with the Steelers a couple of days ago, all eyes have been on Pittsburgh. Of course, the schedule got revised by fans and media and little did we know, some matchups became must-watch. Week 8 is one of those as the Steelers will host Love and the Packers.

A-Rod is not precisely a forgiving man. Time and time again we’ve seen him take shots or act passive-agressive with issues he’s had. Since his time in Green Bay came to an abrupt end, he most definitely will try to spoil any cheesehead celebrations.
For Love, it’s the opportunity to exemplify a passing of the torch’ moment by beating his mentor. With both teams looking for a playoff push, you can bet that this game will be very intense.
Aaron Rodgers will seek NFL history vs. Jordan Love and the Packers
It’s not only a battle of teacher vs. student, but also an opportunity for Rodgers to make NFL history. He could become the fifth QB to beat all 32 teams in the league. This elite club is formed by Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees.
A guy that has already ‘Hall Of Fame’ written all over him, Rodgers can see this as a cherry on top moment. However, it’s safe to say Love has more chemistry with his team than Rodgers with his. Being a Week 8 matchup, Rodgers will have a couple of months to adjust to his role in Pittsburgh to get ready for the Packers.
