Longhorns QB Arch Manning makes something clear ahead of the 2025 NCAAF season

Arch Manning will be Steve Sarkisian‘s trusted man in the upcoming NCAAF season, with the primary goal of taking his Texas Longhorns as far as possible. After Quinn Ewers’ departure to the NFL, the newly named starting QB shared his main objective for what lies ahead.

After announcing a new NIL deal, this time with Vuori Clothing, the talented player took some time to sit down for an interview, where he outlined his plans for the upcoming season and revealed how a legacy is built within the program.

“I think building your own legacy starts with staying true to yourself,” Manning said. “There’s a lot of built-up pressure, but I try to just work hard and be present—not looking at the past or the future—but instead focusing right in the moment where my feet are.”

Manning will have an entire season ahead to prove whether he has what it takes to make a real impact at Texas, showcasing his talent that many believe could take them deep into the College Football playoffs.

Arch Manning’s biggest role model

Continuing with the relaxed conversation about his career, and specifically about who his biggest influence in the sport has been, Manning revealed who his role model is, leaving aside Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers.

“I really like to watch Josh Allen,” the Longhorns quarterback stated to the press. “He’s one of my biggest role models. I love the way he plays. I like the way he carries himself.”

Additionally, he mentioned another legend from outside of football: “In other sports, I’d say it’s Michael Jordan, my dad loved him when I was growing up. They are the ultimate competitors, they have fun, and they stay true to themselves.”

Sarkisian’s message to the Texas fans

Manning’s first season leading the Texas Longhorns’ starting lineup has Steve Sarkisian on alert, as he believes fans must be patient with the ups and downs the QB may face throughout the year.

“The boos. Because the boos are going to come here pretty soon, too.,” Sarkisian admitted in his heads-up message for Manning, per Sports Illustrated. “I love our fans – they love the backup quarterback, but they hate interceptions. So those are coming.”
