To say that this NBA season has been quite crazy could be an understatement. In fact, the players, teams, staff, and every single person involved in professional basketball would argue that they shouldn’t have rushed back to play after such a short offseason, especially considering that the pandemic is far from over. At least, I’m pretty sure that Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant would agree with that statement.

Durant has found out firsthand what Covid-19 looks like. He got it several months ago, made a full recovery, and then was forced to sit out several games again due to contact tracing. Then, last night, out of the blue and all of a sudden, he was pulled out again.

The league didn’t allow Durant to start the game vs. the Toronto Raptors due to health and safety protocols. He could come off the bench, though, just to be pulled out from it before the start of the second half due to an inconclusive test from a person he was in contact with. Yeah, that doesn’t make sense at all.

Kevin Durant Asks To Be Freed, Calls Out The NBA

Unsurprisingly, given his often outspoken and controversial nature, Durant didn’t take that incident lightly this time. In fact, he asked to be ‘freed’ and then put the world no notice by calling out the league and their‘wack PR tactics’.

“Yo@nba, your fans aren’t dumb!!!! You can’t fool em with your Wack ass PR tactics.. #FREE7,” a clearly angry Durant wrote on Twitter.

In all honesty, this just doesn’t make sense at all. I mean, how could he play and put other players at risk – assuming he should, indeed, be isolated – and then pull it out of the game? Why didn’t they cancel the game then? That’s exactly why some people think the league should pause for a couple of weeks while they get things straight.
