Porter Jr.’s consistent performance makes him a relatively valuable player for the Nets. He holds a career average of 16.2 points per game and has maintained above that mark for the past three seasons. His highest single-season average was 19 points per game during the 2020-21 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a> season.



<h2>Porter Jr. Willing to Adjust to New York</h2>



The Nets missed the playoffs last season despite having players with relatively good averages. Porter Jr. joins the team aiming to help, but he’ll also need to adjust, as New York isn’t his favorite city.

That’s why Cameron Boozer, their newest star, is also projected to be next in line. He’s the son of another former Blue Devil and NBA player, Carlos Boozer, and he’ll likely be another one-and-done player.



Wth that in mind, NBA Draft expert Jonathan Givony put together his way-too-early mock draft, and he thinks that Boozer will go to the Brooklyn Nets with the third-overall pick.

“Boozer is one of the most productive high school players we’ve ever seen, with a winning résumé unmatched by any prospect in recent memory,” Givony wrote. “He has an elite feel for the game, and can handle, pass, shoot and guard every position. He brings relentless physicality, crashes the glass and takes pride in dominating his matchups inside.”

Needless to say, this is just a projection, and a lot of things can change until that day. But judging by the Nets’ current roster, it’s hard to envision a more promising outcome for them next season.



At least, their woes won’t go unnoticed and unrewarded. If Boozer turns out to be as good as projected, he might be what the franchise needs to finally get the monkey off their backs.

According to Shams Charania, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/denver-nuggets">Nuggets</a> are sending Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Johnson and an unprotected first-round pick. The deal is expected to bring some changes to the way the franchise operates moving forward.



“The Denver Nuggets are trading Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Johnson, sources tell ESPN,” Charania reported on X.

By making this trade, the Nuggets are saving just over $15 million in salary. Porter Jr. was slated to earn an average annual salary of $38 million for the upcoming 2025-26 season, whereas Johnson will collect $24 million next season and $27 million for 2026-27.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported on Tuesday that the possibility is off the table.&nbsp;



“Unlikely. Matter of fact I might even go highly unlikely,” Lewis said. “That’s from multiple sources. You never say never, but I think that’s something that I wouldn’t count on seeing happening. Trading up? Maybe. And I’m sure they’d love to have Dylan Harper, but the odds of him landing here in Brooklyn, not very good.”

“Knueppel finished as a 40% 3-point shooter and averaged 14.4 points per game on a Duke team that won 35 games and made the Final Four. He averaged 15 points and shot 55.6% from distance in the NCAA Tournament and has the tools to be a plug-and-play scoring guard,” wrote Boone.

He believes the former Duke Blue Devils star will be the sixth-overall pick, and given the way he shoots the ball, it would certainly be more than justified to take him that high.

Still, D-Lo admitted that Jokic’s level of play is simply too dominant to ignore when it comes to the MVP conversation. “Like, we can’t just keep looking over dude… I wish I would say it louder so y’all could hear me… He’s unbelievable,” said Russell.

The Mavericks let the game slip away in the final quarter. After the game, Anthony Davis did not shy to share his thoughts on the defeat.



“We know the position that we are in… Definitely a tough loss…A game we should have won. Hats off to them, they shot the ball really, really well… We just gotta do a better job on the defensive end, also offensively especially late-game,” stated <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/anthony-davis" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Anthony Davis</a>.



Anthony Davis continues to show strong leadership. He knows the Mavericks still have plenty of room to grow. Also, He understands that his own performance must improve. Over the last four games, he has not scored more than 18 points. That is far from the offensive impact his team needs. Davis knows they rely on him to be a consistent scoring threat.



Jason Kidd’s defensive struggles force him to focus more on that end of the floor. Anthony Davis responds with intensity and urgency. He makes a huge difference on defense and remains a key piece for the Mavericks. In each of the last four games, he grabs at least six defensive rebounds.

Considering the latter, Davis has shown effort, but the team still needs his offense contributions. For that to happen, Kidd needs to fix the defensive unit of the Mavericks. It would give Davis the freedom to dominate on both ends.

Before the game against the Brooklyn Nets, a fan recorded a video of himself yelling “Fire Nico” in Harrison’s face. It was a clear act of protest.

That seems very difficult this season. Even if that happens in the short term, it might not fix the tension.
