The NFL preseason is coming to a close. The Carolina Panthers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers will play, but the question remains: Are they putting Aaron Rodgers and Bryce Young on the field?

For the Panthers, everyone expecting to see Bryce Young will be disappointed. Joseph Person of The Athletic reported that head coach Dave Canales will rest the starters, including Bryce Young. This is sort of shocking as Young and plenty of starters played on the team’s first two games.

However, with Week 1 quickly approaching, it seems like Canales won’t risk Young or any other of his players anymore. “The starters will not play this upcoming week. Those practices (joint with Steelers) become so valuable because it’s the last time we have this whole group together and we’re able to get the intensities that we want going into the season,” Canales said via press conference.

What’s Aaron Rodgers’ status vs. Panthers?

This won’t be surprising, but Mike Tomlin said that most of the Steelers starters have potential playing time for the game against Carolina. However, he discarted the names of Aaron Rodgers, Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, and DK Metcalf.

Basically, starters can play, but not the actual stars on the team. Tomlin also said he is fine with Aaron Rodgers‘ output in training camp, “I’m comfortable with what I’m seeing out here. Obviously, if I weren’t, I would be playing him.”

Who are the Panthers and Steelers facing in Week 1?

The Carolina Panthers are trying to put their new era under Dave Canales on the right path. To start their NFL regular season, it’s a feline showdown as they visit the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Aaron Rodgers is visiting his former team as he goes against the New York Jets. This game will be played on MetLife Stadium, the same venue were the quarterback tore his Achilles tendon two years ago.
